Areas of Professional Expertise:
Stream/river ecosystem structure and
function. General stream ecosystem theory with special emphasis on
land-water interactions, especially sources and fates of organic matter
from the riparian zone. Functional group analysis of stream organisms
and factors that regulate their growth and mortality.

and environmental physiology, stream primary production and community
metabolism. insect neural-endocrine morphology, aquatic fungi. and
stream ecology and fire effects in Yellowstone National Park.
